Sawtell suits a small wedding done well: 30 to 60 guests on a private property, a marquee that's up before anyone else needs the space, and a crew a quarter of an hour away. The village is built around one street, and on the first Saturday in July First Avenue fills with more than 13,000 people for the Chilli Festival; the rest of the year it's headlands, the beach and back lawns, and that's where our Sawtell work sits. Being close means a crew can come back the same afternoon if the wind picks up and you'd like a wall added. Sawtell is close enough to the depot that tables, chairs and lighting are delivered at our lowest rate, and a marquee is priced off our standard size ladder. Ground near the beach is often sand under a thin lawn, which we check before we quote: pegs where they'll hold, weights where they won't, and the answer written on the quote.
